"All Of The Girls You Loved Before" is a previously unreleased song by American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift. The song is confirmed to be an outtake from her seventh studio album, Lover, released on March 17, 2023, through Republic Records.
Background[]
The song is widely believed to be about her then-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.
Taylor's Inner Circle obtained the song in March 2020.[1][2] Taylor's Inner Circle described the song by saying: "Starting out with a catchy drum loop and then keyboard, Taylor begins by singing about how she and the man she loves had parallel past lives. Previous relationships they were each in did not go well. However, the stars aligned and their lives intertwined. Instead of despising the girls that her man dated previously, Taylor is thankful for them. Those girls have made him the person he is today and resulted in them now being together. My favorite line in the song is: "A heart is drawn around your name in someone's handwriting not mine". This song more than any other I've heard shows off Taylor's incredible vocal range. At the end of the bridge, her vocals soar impressively high."
Two snippets of the song were leaked on February 5, 2023.[citation needed] On February 6, another snippet of the song leaked.[3]
On February 23, a fan created a group fund in order to raise $2,600 USD that would be used to purchase "All Of The Girls You Loved Before" and "Drama Queen". The group fund met its goal on February 26. The song leaked in full on March 1.
On March 16, 2023, to celebrate the beginning of The Eras Tour, Swift announced that the song would be released at midnight, along with the re-recorded versions of "Eyes Open", "Safe & Sound" and "If This Was A Movie".[4][5]
On March 17, 2023, an EP titled The More Lover Chapter consists of five songs from Lover, was released. It is a surprise compilation to celebrate the first date of the "Eras Tour" American stadium tour. The EP features this song as the fifth track along with "Cruel Summer", "The Man", "The Archer" and the album's title track, "Lover".

Swift performed "All Of The Girls You Loved Before" as a surprise song on the Eras Tour on July 29, 2023, in Santa Clara, California. It was performed as an Eras Tour surprise song a second time on June 8, 2024, in Edinburgh, Scotland, mashed-up with "Crazier".
