"Is It Over Now?" is the twenty-first track from American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift's fourth re-recorded album, 1989 (Taylor's Version), released on October 27, 2023, through Republic Records. The song is the fifth "From The Vault" track on the album. The song was released as the official lead single from the re-recorded album on October 31, 2023.
Background[]
"Is It Over Now?" was initially written as the closing track for Swift's fifth studio album, 1989, and its title is a play on that fact. She noted that she sees "Is It Over Now?" as a 'sister song' to "I Wish You Would" and "Out Of The Woods", and due to the similarity in their sound, "Is It Over Now?" was left off the album.[1]
Similarly to these songs, "Is It Over Now?" is widely speculated to be about Swift's ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles, which seems to be suggested especially by the lyrics "red blood, white snow, blue dress on a boat", which is a recurring topic on 1989.

It was mashed up with the bridge of "Out Of The Woods". It was then performed as a surprise song a second time on February 25, 2024, in Sydney, Australia, mashed up with "I Wish You Would". The "Is It Over Now?" / "Out Of The Woods" mashup was played again as an Eras Tour surprise song on May 10, 2024, in Paris, France. It was mashed up with "Out Of The Woods" a third time and "Clean" on June 23, 2024 in London. Swift and Sabrina Carpenter also performed it in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 26, 2024, mashed-up with Carpenter's songs "Espresso" and "Please Please Please".
