Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) is the upcoming re-recording of Taylor Swift’s debut album, Taylor Swift. Not much is known about it other than its name was trademarked on USPTO on March 15, 2022. The re-recording will be one of the final two to be released along with Reputation (Taylor's Version).

Background

As per her contract with Big Machine Records, Swift released six studio albums under the label from 2006 to 2017. In late 2018, the contract with the label expired; she hence withdrew from Big Machine and signed a new recording deal with Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group, which secured her the rights to own the masters of the new music she will release. In 2019, American businessman Scooter Braun and his company Ithaca Holdings acquired Big Machine. As part of the acquisition, ownership of the masters to Swift's first six studio albums, including the self-titled debut, transferred to Braun. In August 2019, Swift denounced Braun's purchase of the label and announced that she would re-record her first six studio albums, to own their masters herself. In November 2020, Braun sold the masters to Shamrock Holdings, an American private equity firm owned by the Disney estate, under the conditions that Braun and Ithaca Holdings will continue to financially profit from the albums. Swift began re-recording the albums in November 2020.

On January 5th 2024, four outtakes were registered on GEMA.

• The songs from the Beautiful Eyes EP are expected to be re-recorded for this album (excluding the remixes of album tracks). "Beautiful Eyes" and "I Heart ?" were re-registered on January 8th, 2024.
• The track listing currently lists the songs from the original Taylor Swift (excluding the pop version of "Teardrops On My Guitar"); song lengths may change in the re-recording and once the "From The Vault" tracks are announced, they will be added.
• The song released for the soundtrack of Hannah Montana: The Movie, "Crazier", was re-registered on January 7th, 2024, meaning it might be on the vault of the album.
