The song became a promotional single on February 17, 2015. It is also the fourteenth track from Swift's fourth re-recorded album, 1989 (Taylor's Version), released on October 27, 2023, through Republic Records.

The song was performed as the surprise song in Houston, Texas, on September 29, 2018, on the Reputation Stadium Tour.
The song was also performed as the first surprise song in Houston, Texas, on April 21, 2023, on The Eras Tour. The song was performed for the second time on The Eras Tour as a surprise song in Milan, Italy, on July 13, 2024, mashed up with "the 1."
